We know that when we perform direct bonding procedures, our adhesives and restorative materials can cause proteolytic responses in the dentin structure, which may ultimately lead to failure at the interface. However, we tend to overlook the possibility of similar outcomes with our resin cements. As we create the same hybridization of the dentin, there is a potential for failure due to bacterial contamination, insufficient infiltration, and the acidity of our resin cement. This CE webinar aims to explore a cementation process that can significantly improve the success of this critical restorative procedure.

Delivering optimal posterior composites often pose pain points for even the most technically skilled practitioner. Challenges with isolation, placement and layering, predictable curing, contour and contacts, and final finish/polish and esthetics, sometimes lead to underwhelming outcomes. This CE webinar is designed to provide updates on materials and techniques, which when integrated, can resolve many of the pain points facing doctors, and lead to better outcomes, happier patients, and greater satisfaction in practice.

Substance abuse is at an all-time “high” in this country with an estimated 1 out of every 10 Americans addicted to prescription or illicit drugs. As dental professionals, we must awaken to the reality that many of our patients have substance-use disorders and that our examination findings of advanced caries, severe hyposalivation, and poor plaque control are often the effects of depressant, stimulant, and opioid abuse. In this CE webinar, learn how to recognize the clues of substance abuse from a routine dental examination, discuss your concerns and suspicions with patients, develop and deliver safe and effective dental treatment, and manage pain with non-opioid medications. *Note: Course content does not include marijuana
Patients come into our office with misaligned, chipped or discolored bonded restorations. However, due to social media, patients are more fearful of "drilling" on their teeth. Therefore, they become very apprehensive about treatment. It is crucial to educate and communicate to our patients and use a more conservative approach to enhancing their smile. Step one for success is to correctly align the teeth in order to have long term results with composite bonding. Step two is assessing where and how much is needed to enhance the newly positioned teeth to create a more esthetic result. Composite bonding can yield immediate results and gratifications.
Remineralization used to be as simple as "put some fluoride on it!" But is the array of products available today claiming “remineralization” pushing the limits of oral healthcare? In a clinical world of dry mouth and acidic beverages, perhaps we’re putting too much faith in an antiquated understanding of what happens on the surface of a tooth. The science of reversing demineralization can be summarized easily, but clinicians would be wise to realize it takes more than an electronegative anion to rebuild the strongest biological substance on earth. How far can we push chemistry before accepting biochemistry makes more sense, and what could go horribly wrong?
